Advertising people — creative directors, writers, and designers — can
be tough customers. They can also be a pleasure to work with because most can
provide solid creative direction. The best will give you just enough rope to
hang yourself.
When Elizabeth Cogswell Baskin wanted a web site for her agency, Atlanta based Tribe Creative
Inc., she went to Relay. Elizabeth has worked with many high profile clients
including Porsche Cars North America, ING and John Wieland Homes, all of which are located in the Atlanta area.
"I chose Relay partly because Joe has both corporate experience and a creative
background," Elizabeth commented. "So he could get where I wanted to
go creatively, but he also has a reassuringly strong business sense."
Although, Relay generally incorporates copywriting into the process,
Elizabeth made it easy by providing great writing and a clear picture
of what her brand should "look like."
Even in the midst of creative fervor, Relay never let up on customer
care. After her site was up and running Elizabeth remarked, "Joe's
a joy to work with and goes the extra mile and a half in customer
service. I didn't want some young kid experimenting on my site. I
wanted someone who really knows what they are doing, and who understands
the realities of B2B marketing."
Other features of the Tribe Creative Inc. site include original photography shot
by Relay. Instead of the same old stock imagery, clean black and white images
were used on each page. To showcase Tribe's TV work, video optimized for the
web is used along with a unique menu system to highlight each ad. Radio and print
advertising are also creatively presented.
Look for more creative-oriented websites soon. Relay currently working on a web design for
a copywriter and an Atlanta based photographer.
